Youth for Causes Group Proposal

The theme for our project is ‘Touch Hearts, Reach Out, for the Rainbow of Hope’.

Main Fund Raising Idea:

Selling of the colored cards, postcards & bookmarks.


Product 1)
Colored Card
We got this idea as the Club Rainbow has helped many of the children to build a Rainbow of Hope. We plan to sell heart-shaped colored cards (according to our theme which includes ‘Touch Hearts’) and rainbow-shaped Post-It Pads in packets for $2. We will also include invitation slips for the carnival cum concert in the packet to advertise our event. The buyers can choose to write words of encouragements on the card before returning it to us. This colored card will be collected back for the record breaking event (if possible).

We can either, connect the cards collected to form a long line, or stick on a wall to create a big drawing of a rainbow. We may be able to make a mark in the World Guinness Book of Records for the longest man-made rainbow chain formed or the largest rainbow portrait if we have time to apply for it. Otherwise our ‘Rainbow of Hope’ portrait will be given to Club Rainbow for decoration purposes.



Product 2)
Postcards and the bookmarks will bear some of the children’s and our student’s art work.

We believe that co-operation between members from the Club Rainbow and Anderson Junior College will help strengthen the bonds among us. Children will be exposed to what fund-raising is about and play an important role in this project. In addition, students can have fun and contribute back to the society at the same time. Most importantly, we hope that the public appreciate the efforts we put in designing the products, and support the sales of items for charity.
This is a representation of the “Reach Out” phrase in our theme; we hope that people will make a sincere donation to bring hope into the children’s lives.



We will firstly start off the project by distributing order forms to all the schools in Singapore for the sale of the heart cards, postcards and bookmarks. They will be priced at $2 each, and if they buy all 3 items at one go, it will be $5 for the whole package. (We will strongly encourage schools to purchase the package.)

After we confirmed the number of orders, we would then send the postcards and bookmarks for printing. We hope that the distribution of products for sale in schools will not only boost the amount of donation, but more importantly, students can help to spread the message, ‘Touch Hearts, Reach Out, for the Rainbow of Hope’ to their family members as well.

We would also involve the recruited volunteers to help with the folding of the hearts and the packing of the various items into a package. We will also make use of this opportunity to inform the people about Club Rainbow Singapore and at the same time publicize our record-breaking carnival cum concert by placing invitation slips into the package.
